The Bible uses several different illustrations to describe the church. Two common themes are the church as a body and the church as a family.
Like the human body, so the church body is made up of different parts. We have different people with different talents and gifts. The body needs all of the different parts to function as one whole, healthy body. It is the same for the church.
As a family we desire to love and serve one another. We live as a community. In the church, community is often talked about as an end in itself. At Reformation Presbyterian Church, we desire to live as a community centered on our mission: being the instrument of extending Christ's kingdom in New York City.
Here is a picture of part of our group when we were forming as a potential church. Several people were absent and more have joined this work since this picture. We will get a more current picture up in the near future.
In the future this page will track our events as a community as we seek to live as a community committed to our mission. We desire our to see our church community serve and reach the neighborhoods we live in, the borough of Queens, and the entire city of New York.
