In one way, the church is not like any other organization in that it is governed by God himself. Jesus Christ is the head of His church. In another way, the church is like other organizations in that it needs earthly leaders. God, by His grace, appoints men through His church to give their hearts and lives to serve the members of the body and to lead the church on its mission. The pastor of the church is an elder who is particularly tasked with the preaching and teaching of the Bible and other aspects of the church's worship. Along with the other elders, he serves in the spiritual care of the body and in prayer.

Reformation Presbyterian Church has two elders that come from the overseeing church that planted this church in Queens, NY. They are Mr. Steve Liesveld and Mr. Gene Mayer. The pastor of the church is Mr. Brad Hertzog.
My name is Brad Hertzog and I am the pastor of Reformation Presbyterian Church in Queens, NY.

God has poured out His grace upon me over the past 15 years or so and for that I am unspeakably thankful.

In recent years, I am grateful to God for the way He has prepared, equipped, and called me to serve His church as a pastor. After spending five years in the training ground of seminary, I spent a year and a half working toward the start of this new church plant in Queens, NY. After much prayer, planning, and labor, we are now on the frontlines of battlefield in New York City.

It is my great joy (and many others) to see this new church plant come to exist. My role as the church planter and pastor is to preach and teach the Bible, care for and serve the church, and lead the church on its mission into the world. I desire to see men and women, boys and girls come to love the Lord Jesus Christ and worship and serve Him in the His church for many generations to come.

I delight in what I do, and I take it very seriously. I trust in Jesus Christ to build His church as He promised, but I also know He has chosen to work through His church and to use us in the advance of His kingdom. Therefore, I work hard with those around me and with those God has given to my care to that end.
